When the Sage of Omaha once stated that his preferred holding period was forever, he did certainly not mean by this sentence that his investment portfolio would be static over time. Once we look at the composition of the listed equity part of Berkshire Hathaway, we indeed notice that the portfolio has significantly changed over the last decade. Apple now represents 41% of his portfolio followed by Bank of America ( 10.5% ). We also take note that Coca-Cola is down from 20% to 8% over the decade, IBM has left the top holdings and Chevron became a 7.8% holding.
