Markets have come a long way — from extreme fear when Trump announced his initial tariff plan earlier this year… to extreme greed today.
The CNN Fear & Greed Index, which tracks investor sentiment across seven market indicators, has swung sharply. Below 25 signals fear, above 75 greed — and as the chart shows, emotions have shifted quickly.

Periods of fear often bring the best long-term opportunities. Volatility can be uncomfortable, but it allows disciplined investors to add quality businesses at attractive prices. That’s exactly what we did earlier this year.
As Peter Lynch once observed, more money is lost trying to anticipate corrections than in the corrections themselves — a truth that continues to hold in our opinion. Staying invested, grounded in fundamentals, and putting more money to work when everybody else is fearful remains the better path.
